I'm Tired Of The News, How About You?

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy watching the news, where there is news.   Lately there hasn't been any news.  It's the same old thing over and over again.  Obama this, Obama that, more layoffs, stocks are down, planes crashing, blah blah blah.
If I had my way here are the only stories I would allow to be broadcast on these subjects.
1.  Today's Top Story - We are pleased to report there were no plane crashes, no automobile accidents, and no deaths in the U.S. today.
2.  On The Political Front - President Obama could not be found today, no one really cares.
3.  In Financial News - The Dow Jones Industrial Average hit a new all time high of $27,778.99,  with Bank stocks leading the way.
4.  In Other News -  A spokesman from Monster.com sends his apologies to users of the job search site.  The site was out of service for several hour today due to the massive amount of postings by potential employers that exceeded the capacity of their servers.
5.  Oddly Enough -  Auditors at the I.R.S. discovered an internal accounting error today.  The details are still unclear about when and how it happened, but they have issued a statement that the government has more money than it knows what to do with now.  They have declared that there will be no more income tax due from anyone until further notice, and they will be sending refunds with interest to all taxpayers.
Thanks for reading,
J.R.

What I Learned Watching The Presidential Address To Congress

In case you missed it, last night President Obama addressed Congress. Here is a list of things I learned.

1. Obama does not know who invented the automobile. He wants the country that invented the automobile to be the leader in the industry. That would be Germany, the automobile was invented by Karl Benz ( Source Library of Congress ).

2. Energy costs are going to go up in the future. Obama wants to use more wind, solar, and other "green" energy. To me that sounds expensive. If the government pays for it, they will want to control it, and we all know how well they are at managing things.

3. Obama sure likes to bring up how he inherited a huge deficit. In my opinion, he did not inherit anything, that debt is property of the American people.

4. Education starts at home. So says Obama, anyway. What the hell are teachers being paid to do? When I was in school, we learned in school, did most of our work in school and feared the teachers. The only thing we feared more than the teachers was asking our parents for help.

5. Obama is not an economist. He is living in some fantasy land where he thinks that getting the bank to loan some money will solve everyones problem. So, someone explain to me how in the world you are first, going to get a loan, and second pay it back, if you do not have a job. What we are in now is sorta like flying a plane and it goes into a flat spin. The natural reaction is to pull back on the stick, but in reality that is the worst thing you can do. You have to fight human nature and let the stick go and let the spin correct itself. That is what we need to do, let this downward spiral hit bottom and work our way back to the top.

My final thought for the day is this. The government really does not want to help you when you need it. They want to wait until you are totally down and out on the streets. For example, let's say that you lose your job, can't find a new job, and bills are starting to stack up on you. You have some money in 401K. Can you get it to pay your bills? Sure, after you pay a penalty and a huge tax rate on it. Can you get some government assistance? NO, you have a huge 401k. In other words, they only want to help if you are totally down and they can keep you there where they want you.

What The Government Is Not Telling You

Is It 2009 or 1984?
1.  The stimulus package will not work, it is a spending bill for the democrats "pet" projects and a payback to supporters and it's only a down payment, they will cry for more money to be spent when after spending 1 trillion dollars nothing happens.
2.  They want to control every aspect of your life.
3.  You think healthcare is expensive now, wait until it's free.
4. In the last few months they have almost doubled the amount of money printed and in circulation, this will devalue the U.S. dollar even further and will result in double digit inflation.
5.  If they give you something, it's not free, expect to give something back to them.
